VEN initially displays the top 5 websites (targets) according to Google. This is just to get the ball rolling. Users can delete and add targets once the project has been initialised, this includes their own website. Users simply need to go to 'Add target' and enter their own URL.
VEN scrapes the target websites you have selected, counting text that matches the keywords generated to give you an idea of volume of content created by said target website that meets this keyword (customer need).
Our current algorithms provide us with a 85% confidence interval but the methodology applied is uniformed across all targets measured which means that any error is consistent meaning that the proportional difference between targets.
Sadly no. VEN draws the most up to date data whenever it is run. Digital content and search data changes with time and VEN doesn't currently log or store previous data sets.
VEN provides a robust in app support service with step by step support guides for all uses of VEN available via the documents tab as well as user guide videos. If users are still unable to resolve an issue they can email support@ven-technologies.com
The list of keywords you generate feature on the left hand side, by using the 'Generate with AI' button new keywords will be interspersed into this list according to keyword volume but next to each of them will be a small 'robot' icon.
VEN is designed to exhaustively explore market and customer keywords. The list generated can therefore become very large and not all keywords will be of interest to the user. Next to each keyword there is a small 'star' icon, users can click this to highlight to VEN the keywords of most interest. Highlighted keywords are automatically stored and can be viewed / edited using the 'My Keywords' button
Not at the moment but watch out for future updates.
In short, yes. VEN offers a free 7 day trial period which we believe gives users enough time to get a really good feel for the capability and usefulness of VEN. Users are also free to cancel their subscription at any time only being charged for the active month. Users can contact VEN using support@ven-technologies.com
Most likely this is because you haven't chosen any specific Keywords. The AI content generator requires you to select the keywords you want to build content around. You can do this but clicking the 'star' icon next to the keywords. These will appear in your 'My Keywords' list and it is this list that the AI content generator uses.
Once content changes have been made on your (or any target) website and published, VEN can immediately spot them. By refreshing the data using the 'recycle' button in the top right of the screen next to 'Delete' you will ask VEN to re-run the data for the keywords in the project
Remember to export your existing data before refreshing to spot change.
In the top right there is a button that looks like a 'recycle' icon. This button refreshes the data but it is important to export your existing data before refreshing so that you can spot any changes that might have occurred.
Currently no. It is important that you export your existing data before refreshing in order to spot any changes.
VEN uses live data and captures it in the moment (a snap shot). Which means that if a competitor website published content changes 1 second after you ran the data the scores for that competitor would be inaccurate reflecting what was not what is. It is therefore important to consider regular and timely refreshes to monitor change.
Remember to export your existing data before refreshing to spot change.
We have created a thorough documentation page where we go into more detail on how each of the VEN components works and how it's supposed to be used. You can access our documentation here.
